Meal kit service Blue Apron has announced that Chief Operating Officer Alan Blake will leave the company on June 1. Effective immediately, his duties will be divided between VP of Operations Jason Hatcher and VP of Procurement and Supply Chain Greg Wysocki.
Hatcher and Wysocki will report directly to CEO Linda Findley Kozlowski.
Hatcher has been with Blue Apron for 5 years and has been responsible for multi-site national fulfillment operations. He has previously held logistics and operations positions at LEGACY Supply Chain Services and New Breed Logistics, which is now owned XPO Logistics.
Wysocki joined Blue Apron in 2018 after working as the VP of Procurement for ISS-owned corporate dining company Guckenheimer. Wysocki has served in procurement and logistics leadership roles at multiple companies including Norwegian Cruise Line, CKE Restaurants' fast food chain Hardee’s, and Marriott subsidiary Starwood Hotels.
In a press release, Kozlowski said, “Blue Apron has built a strong operations team, and Jason and Greg have played key roles in driving the ability of our operations to scale and meet the demands of our customers. We will continue that work, executing our strategy while simultaneously increasing capacity and capability as they take on additional responsibilities to lead the entire team.”
Blue Apron’s fulfillment and supply chain leadership change comes as the company is experiencing heightened demand for its meal kits and avoiding meat shortages. In April 2020, the company saw a 27% surge in meal kit orders, as some consumers avoid supermarkets during the coronavirus pandemic.
