Data analytics company, Confluent, has hired ex Salesforce executive Larry Shurtz as Chief Revenue Officer in preparation for its IPO.
Shurtz joined Salesforce as an Area Vice President in 2011 and has held Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President positions at the company. Prior to joining Salesforce, he served as an Area Vice President at Oracle. He has a Bachelor Degree in Science from the University of Arizona.
The Mountainview based company focused on building technology around data in motion, filed to go public confidentiality in April this year and has since been looking to expand its executive team. The company was founded over a decade ago by former LinkedIn engineers, CEO Jay Kreps and Neha Narkhede and Jun Rao.
According to The Information, Confluent has been actively hiring for a Chief Revenue Officer since April 2020. Shurtz will not be the only recent Salesforce hire by the data company. Two months ago, it poached Salesforce’s EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, Stephanie Buscemi, to become its own CMO.
