GitLab has selected Ashley Kramer as the DevOps platform’s new Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer.
Kramer, a former engineer, will report to GitLab CEO and co-founder Sid Sijbrandij and helm the company’s marketing organization. In the company’s press release, Sijbrandij said, “I believe Ashley’s mix of marketing, product, and technology leadership positions make her well suited to lead as GitLab enters into the next phase of market leadership.”
Kramer joins GitLab from Sisense, where she led the business intelligence software company’s go-to-market and product strategy, brand awareness and revenue growth as its Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Product Officer. Before that, she led Alteryx and Tableau’s post-IPO growth and market success as SVP of Product and Head of Cloud, respectively.
“As a former engineer, I am drawn to GitLab’s unique ability to solve a deep developer pain point — streamlining the development process and bringing innovative ideas to customers in a quicker and more efficient way,” Kramer said. “I am thrilled to join GitLab as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer and look forward to contributing to GitLab’s continued success.”
She joins the DevOps platform on the back of a year of rapid growth, including its IPO in October 2021. Her time at Alteryx and Tableau will provide GitLab with a wealth of public company operating experience as it continues to scale.
GitLab has revealed that it generated $252 million in revenue last year, a 66% jump from $152 million in 2020. The company sees a huge opportunity ahead of it and pegs the addressable market opportunity for DevOps software at $40 billion.
