LinkedIn Gets a New Chief People Officer

LinkedIn's new Chief People Officer, Teuila Hanson, began her new post today, replacing Nina McQueen who had served as interim Chief People Officer since December 2019.

Hanson will lead the company’s global talent organization that is responsible for hiring, professional development, benefits, employee experience, as well as its diversity, inclusion, and belonging programs.

She joins the online professional community company at a critical time as it adapts to a work from home model due to the coronavirus and deals with racial issues in the workplace. Earlier this month, CEO Ryan Roslansky apologized to the company after some anonymous employees made disturbing comments during the company's global town hall meeting on racial inequality.

Prior to joining LinkedIn, Hanson was the Chief Strategy and People Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. She also held various leadership roles at global professional services organization AECOM, including a stint as the company’s VP of talent management and development.

In a LinkedIn post, Roslansky stated, “Over the last several months as I’ve gotten to know Teuila, I’ve been impressed not only with her vast experience as a talent leader and her deep understanding of the world of work and the macroeconomy, but also with her ability to instantly build personal connections.”

In her own LinkedIn post, Hanson said, “In our current environment, LinkedIn’s potential to have a positive, deeply personal impact on individuals has never been greater. I am excited to use our remarkable convening power to help HR professionals across countries connect, discuss, and share ideas and leading practices. All of this will increase our collective wisdom and create better outcomes for our members.”
