Disney’s Brenda O’Kane has joined Target as VP of Infrastructure and Production Engineering, according to The Information.
O’Kane reportedly left her jobs as Disney’s VP of Technology to join Target last month, however, the retail giant hadn’t confirmed her hiring until now.
Her new position places her in charge of the stability of Target’s own technology systems and platforms. She reports to SVP of Infrastructure Hari Govind.
Prior to Target, O’Kane oversaw the media library and platform engineering teams at Disney for the past five years. She has also held top engineering roles at Yahoo, Salesforce, and Oracle.
O’Kane’s task to help bring greater reliability to Target’s internal systems is an increasingly important role as the traditionally brick-and-mortar retailer increasingly embraces e-commerce. In fact, due to COVID-19 Target's e-commerce sales spiked 163% to over $10 billion in the first three quarters of 2020, up from almost $4 billion during the same period in 2019.
