Twitch's COO, Sara Clemens, has announced that she will be leaving company in mid-January 2022.
The entertainment and live-streaming platform has stated that it will begin the hunt for a new COO later this year.
Clemens, who has been with the company since 2018, is reportedly exiting to focus on governance and consulting full-time. In a statement seen by Variety, she cited her time on several boards in recent years and called the chance to help founders grow their businesses “rewarding work.”
Before she joined Twitch, Clemens had served as the COO of Pandora (now part of SiriusXM) and held senior roles as the VP of Corporate Development at LinkedIn and a General Manager for Xbox and Hololens at Microsoft.
In a statement provided to Variety, Twitch CEO Emmett Shear called Clemens “exceptionally important” to the Amazon-owned company and said, “She has scaled our business operations, led our international expansion efforts, established new content verticals, built our trust and safety policy and operations globally, all while helping us navigate a period of rapid growth for the organization and the brand.”
