Tobias Wheeler

Tobias Wheeler is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in microfluidics and chemical engineering. Currently serving as Director of Microfluidics at 10X Genomics, Tobias has held multiple roles including Staff Engineer and Senior Scientist, contributing significantly to the development of assays for next-generation sequencing. Prior to this, Tobias worked at Glint Photonics, Inc. and Caliper Life Sciences, focusing on microfluidic devices and electrophoresis instrumentation. A strong foundation in research was established through work as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois and as a Graduate Student at Cornell University, where notable inventions and patent applications were made. Tobias holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara.
