POSITION OVERVIEW The Chief Development Officer will drive significant business growth and will be charged with sourcing, advancing, and executing existing and new energy storage and renewable energy development projects to financing/construction. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and project development qualities, will be successful in cultivating third-party relationships, building, and leading successful project teams, and have a solid understanding of the power industry. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer, or another senior management personnel that the of the Company may designate.

RESPONSIBILTIIES

  • Lead the development of 174 Power Global's near and long-term market strategy. Support the Company objective of developing, and growing a portfolio of renewable energy generation assets;
  • Identify new market opportunities and support the development of the pipelines
  • Responsible for overseeing all phases of PV, BESS, and offshore Wind Project development activities in the company's pipeline;
  • Supervise detailed strategic and financial analysis, modelling, valuations and financial feasibility studies of potential acquisition opportunities;
  • Maintain an overview of the relevant business and competitive environment in energy sector
  • Manage internal and external resources (engineering, finance, legal, environmental, etc) to successfully develop candidate projects;
  • Manage a leadership team responsible for executing on the business, technical leadership and business development; developing and inspiring those leaders to effectively grow their teams, revenue, external thought leadership and innovation opportunities;
  • Lead exploratory discussions with existing or prospective customers to determine market fit, size, and readiness for 174 Power Global's technology solutions;
  • Excellent networking skills, with a strong and existing network in Renewables / Power Systems for PV, BESS and/or offshore Wind Energy and a track record of proactive business development and client relationship management. Lead the development and delivery of project proposals for specific customers;
  • Educate customers and industry groups on 174 Power Global and its competitive advantages;
  • Travel to industrial sites to meet with clients and present at relevant conferences; and
  • Become a known and trusted presence in key industries and environmental legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, economics, business, or a related field;
  • 15+ years’ experience in developing utility scale infrastructure projects in the energy sector, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in renewable project development (PV & BESS), preferably in the offshore wind industry;
  • Relevant experience in siting and permitting significant power generation assets;
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and commercial savvy;
  • Independent work ethic/self-motivation and demonstrated leadership ability ideally in a development role overseeing multiple project/transactions simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers including senior leadership;
  • Excellent PC (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Google Earth, Adobe, etc.) skills;
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization;
  • Intermediate/advance level experience in market assessment, contractual relationships, market development, negotiating commercial agreements;
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%, or more, of the time to fulfill position responsibilities; and
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Demonstrated success in siting and permitting utility scale PV, BESS and/or offshore wind generation facilities;
  • Knowledge of electric plant operations/ownership, and electric market functions and processes;
  • Project finance experience;
  • Knowledge of generation interconnection processes in the WECC, CAISO, ERCOT and other markets; and
  • Project experience in major energy markets.
