James Red Schmitt

James Schmitt brings extensive experience in creative and facilities management, currently serving as Manager of Facilities & Creative Supervisor at 1871 since February 2014, previously holding the role of Senior Creative & Facilities Associate. Prior to this, James was Creative Director at Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy from October 2010 to August 2013, focusing on story design and various aspects of animation and motion graphics. Earlier career highlights include positions as Head Wrist at Red Art Stuff from 1985 to 2008, Holiday Design Director at Rentokil (Ambius) from 2000 to 2002, and Art Director at Frank J Corbett from 1985 to 1989. James holds a Specialized Associates degree in Visual Communication from The Art Institutes and an Associate of Applied Sciences in VFX/Animation with a focus on Character Animation from Tribeca Flashpoint College.
