Anthony Zorzos

Anthony Zorzos has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Anthony is currently the Director of Engineering at 1s1 Energy since 2022. Prior to that, they were the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at SmartCath, Inc, a medical technology company, starting from 2021. At SmartCath, they played a key role in designing, developing, and testing a feasibility prototype for integrating catheter systems and modern sensor technologies. Anthony also focused on minimizing manufacturing cost and labor and establishing a milestone-based development plan for regulatory approval.

Before SmartCath, Anthony was the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Mantlecore, Inc, a technology company, starting from 2018. Here, they designed and deployed mobile apps to improve mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Anthony also worked at Draper as a Senior Principal Engineer from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, Anthony co-founded Aionion, Inc in 2018 and served as the Chief Executive Officer until 2022. Aionion is a quantitative finance group where they developed advanced statistical models for trading in derivatives markets.

In the past, Anthony held roles at Kernel as the Vice President of Technology from 2017 to 2021, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as the Director of Neural Interface Group in 2016, at IZENTIS LLC as a Senior Consultant from 2015 to 2017, at MIT Media Lab as a Research Scientist from 2014 to 2015, and at MIT as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2013 to 2014.

Anthony Zorzos has a strong education background, focusing on neural engineering and applied physics. Anthony attended Brown University from 2003 to 2007, where they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics. After that, Zorzos pursued their Master of Science degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2007 to 2009. Anthony continued their studies at MIT, earning their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Neural Engineering from 2009 to 2013. Zorzos further enhanced their knowledge and expertise by serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT from 2013 to 2014.
