Abe McKay is a mechanical engineer who currently works at 219 Design. In this role, they started and lead a program to install internet-capable thermostats in small buildings. Abe completed a pilot phase in 3 buildings, expanded to 10 buildings, and integrated the program into University ‘new construction’ protocol. For their work on this project, McKay was awarded Best Practice by the California Higher Education Sustainability Conference.
Abe McKay has a MS in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Davis with a focus on Design and Manufacturing. Abe also has a BA in Environmental Analysis: Physics and Engineering from Pomona College. Abe McKay also has certification from Onshape as a Certified Onshape Professional and from AVO Training Institute, Inc. as a Themographer, Level 1.
