Michael's career also includes significant tenure at Joe Gibbs Racing from 2002 to 2020, where Michael was a Race Engineer and Crew Chief for notable NASCAR teams. Early career experiences include positions at T.S. Motorsports, STIDD Systems, and High Gear Racing, complemented by an engineering co-op at TRW. Michael holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an Automotive Specialty from Kettering University.

23XI Racing – pronounced twenty-three eleven – was founded by NBA legend Michael Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin in 2020. Rising NASCAR stars Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick are the team’s drivers. 23XI Racing’s No. 23 Toyota Camry made its NASCAR Cup Series debut at the Daytona 500 on February 14, 2021, at Daytona International Speedway. The team then expanded to add a second full-time entry with the No. 45 Toyota Camry and occasional third car entry with the No. 67 Toyota Camry.
