Hanneke Smits

Hanneke Smits serves as the Global Chair of 30% Club since February 2023 and has been the Global Head of BNY Investments at BNY since October 2020. Additionally, Smits has held the position of Chair of the Board of Trustees for Impetus since March 2014, focusing on charities that assist disadvantaged youth. Other roles include Trustee at the Education Endowment Foundation since December 2018, Board Member at The Investment Association until April 2022, Non-Executive Director at the Bank of England for a year, and CEO of Newton Investment Management from August 2016 to September 2020. Hanneke Smits co-founded Level20, a non-profit organization aimed at empowering women in private equity, and served as a Non-Executive Director at Sofina. From 1997 to 2014, Smits was Chief Investment Officer and Executive Committee Member at Adams Street Partners. Academic qualifications include an MBA from London Business School and a BBA from Nyenrode Business University.
