David Jimenez-Cruz has a diverse work experience in different industries and academic institutions. David'smost recent role is as a Senior Biomedical Engineer at Insight Surgery, starting in June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Leeds from 2019 to date, first as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from March 2019 to September 2022, and later as a Visiting Research Fellow from September 2022 onwards.

Before joining the University of Leeds, David worked as a Mechanical Engineer II at Recipharm from November 2022 to April 2023. David also served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Manchester from July 2014 to March 2019.

Earlier in their career, David gained experience as a Design Engineer at the Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo from November 2008 to August 2009. In this role, they focused on redesigning gas reservoir networks, analyzing high and low-pressure gas wells, and assisting with field work.

David's work experience also includes a role as a Research Assistant at the Instituto Nacional De Rehabilitacion from July 2007 to October 2008. During this time, they conducted mechanical testing on implants and live tissues, performed failure analysis and experimental material behavior, and utilized finite element modeling.

Overall, David Jimenez-Cruz has a strong background in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, and research, with experience in both industry and academia.

David Jimenez-Cruz holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering (Biomechanics) from The University of Manchester, which they obtained from 2009 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México from 2002 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, David has obtained additional certifications. In April 2022, they completed a course in Universal Principles of Design from LinkedIn. David also completed a course in Introduction to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing from LinkedIn in February 2022.
