Carolyn Hopkins-Vasquez has a wealth of experience in the marketing and communications industry, beginning with their role as an Education Intern at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco in 1996. Carolyn then held a Senior Food Service Worker and Inventory Coordinator position at UCSF Medical Center from 1996 to 1999, during which time they also served as a Marketing Promotions Intern at Clear Channel Communications. From 1999 to 2003, they worked at the San Francisco Opera as a Publications Associate, and then held a Conference Services Coordinator position at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2003 to 2006. During that same period, they also worked as an Event Manager at the San José Museum of Art and an Event Director at the Los Altos History Museum. From 2005 to 2017, they were the Marketing Director at Hermitage Brewing Company, and then held roles as a Project Coordinator, Director of Client Services, Director of Client Strategy, Senior Brand Manager, and Brand Manager at 3fold Communications.
Carolyn Hopkins-Vasquez began their educational journey in 1992 when they graduated from Lowell High School. Carolyn then attended University of California, Santa Cruz from 2001 to 2003 where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. In 2002, they also attended UCL for Cultural Studies and Museum Studies. From 2004 to 2006, they attended San Francisco State University, where they earned a Master of Arts in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts. Lastly, in October 2019, they obtained a Certification from the American Advertising Federation's Institute for Advertising Ethics.
