Al Gobel has a diverse range of work experience, spanning multiple companies and roles. Al started their career as a Software Engineer at Dun & Bradstreet, working on portable system interfaces and data dictionary projects. Al then moved on to Pitney Bowes/Dictaphone where they served as a Senior Software Engineer, leading a team in designing voice session software. At Intelligent Business Systems, they worked as a Principal Software Engineer, contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of EasyTalk, a database expert system. Al then joined Intelligent Software Technology as a Principal Software Engineer, serving as the primary architect, designer, and developer for the Destiny parcel manifesting system. Gobel later became a Senior Software Engineer at IMRS (later Hyperion Software, Hyperion Solutions, and Oracle Hyperion), leading a team in converting the flagship Hyperion Enterprise product to a client-server architecture. At RedPrairie Corporation (formerly McHugh Software, Weseley Software), they were a Team Leader involved in designing software architecture and implementing performance enhancements. Gobel also founded Gobel Software LLC and took on the role of Principal before joining RedPrairie Corporation/Shippers Commonwealth LLC as a Solution Architect/Principal Systems Engineer. Al currently serves as the Director of Database Engineering at 3Gtms.
Al Gobel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Yale University in 1981.
