Ash supports the production of systematic reviews and evidence gap maps on the effectiveness of economic and social interventions in low- and middle-income countries, along with other research and evidence synthesis projects. He contributes to all stages of evidence review projects andd is currently coordinating the production of an evidence gap map on food security interventions in humanitarian emergencies, and another evidence synthesis project on freedom and democracy.
His research interests include governance, democracy, inclusive development, gender empowerment, sustainability and climate change, and evidence-policy translation. Prior to 3ie, he has worked at prominent think-tanks in Bangladesh, including Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), where he conducted policy analysis on various social, economic and political issues.
Ash completed his MSc in Public Policy from University College London (UCL), and MSc and BSc in Environmental Sciences from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.
