Kyle Pelot, Ph.D.

Kyle Pelot, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. In 2011, they were a Summer Research Intern at the University of California, Santa Cruz in the Doug Kellogg Lab. In 2012, they were a Summer Research Intern at the University of California, Davis in the Nitin Nitin Lab. In 2013, they were a Marker-Assisted Selection Intern at Bayer Crop Science and a Research Lab Intern and Research Lab Assistant Intern at the University of California, Davis in the Li Tian Lab and Richard W. Michelmore Lab, respectively. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Ph.D. Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Davis in the Philipp Zerbe Lab, where they discovered, characterized, and engineered novel enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of valuable bioproducts. Kyle also worked as a Strain Engineering Intern at Amyris in 2018. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Department Lead and Protein Engineer at Deibel Laboratories and Catalyst Biosciences, respectively. Kyle is currently a Scientist II at 3T Biosciences.

Kyle Pelot, Ph.D. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis in 2014. Kyle then completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry at the same university in 2018.
