Lisa Kirkemo, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. In 2013, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at Oregon State University, where they tested the kinetic parameters of site-specific mutations of carbonic anhydrase (CA9), utilizing genetic code expansion to incorporate non-canonical amino acids. Lisa was also a Teaching Assistant at the same university. In 2014, they became a Research Assistant II at Oregon Health and Science University, where they explored the remyelination potential of thyromimetic compounds as a novel therapeutic strategy for treatment of disorders with demyelinating phenotypes. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Doctoral Candidate in Chemistry & Chemical Biology at University of California, San Francisco, where they explored the cell surface proteomic changes in basal and epithelial subtypes of pancreatic cancer in response to hypoxia. Lisa also worked as a Technology and Licensing Analyst and a Startup101 Team Lead. Currently, they are a Scientist II at 3T Biosciences.

Lisa Kirkemo, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry & Biophysics from Oregon State University between 2010 and 2014. Lisa then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from the University of California, San Francisco between 2016 and 2022.
