Bertold Kolics

Bertold Kolics has extensive work experience in the field of software quality assurance and engineering. Bertold is currently working as a Principal Quality Engineer at Verosint since December 2021. Before that, they were a Software Quality Manager at mabl from May 2019 to December 2021. Prior to mabl, Bertold worked as a Director of Software Quality at DISCO from August 2018 to April 2019.

Earlier in their career, Bertold held positions such as Director of Quality at ESO Solutions from April 2017 to August 2018 and Software Quality Manager at Ping Identity from January 2017 to April 2017. Notably, they served as a Director of Quality at UnboundID Corp. for a significant duration from August 2012 to April 2017, where they managed a team of QA engineers and worked on product quality management. At UnboundID Corp., they also worked as a Software Engineer responsible for backend development from August 2008 to July 2012.

Bertold started their career as a Software Developer at Sun Microsystems, Inc. from July 2001 to August 2008. Bertold worked on developing high-scale identity management applications and automated tests for security and replication features. Prior to Sun Microsystems, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Computer Automation and Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences from September 1997 to May 2000.

Throughout their career, Bertold has demonstrated expertise in risk-based quality assurance processes, bug cluster analysis, test data strategy implementation, hiring practices for quality assurance engineers, and driving cross-cutting projects within engineering. Bertold has also mentored junior QA engineers and managed teams in both matrix and Agile organizational structures.

Bertold Kolics obtained a High School Diploma from Lovassy László Gimnázium from 1988 to 1992. Bertold then pursued higher education at Pannon Egyetem - University of Pannonia, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from 1992 to 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Bertold Kolics has also obtained multiple certifications. These certifications include "Google Cloud Getting Started With Application Development" and "Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure" from Coursera in April 2020. In December 2018, they completed the "Kafka Essential Training" and "Learning the Elastic Stack" courses from LinkedIn. Furthermore, they have acquired various certifications in topics such as software testing, data science, agile project management, cybersecurity awareness, and automated security testing, among others, from LinkedIn. These certifications were obtained between July 2018 and April 2020.
