Loek Daams

Loek Daams is currently the General Counsel at 4G Clinical. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Legal Counsel for Ahold Delhaize from August 2017 to October 2021. In this role, they provided full suite legal experience with a special focus on Tech, IT, and Privacy for Albert Heijn, Etos, and Gall&Gall. From September 2016 to July 2017, Daams was the Legal Counsel at Blokker Holding and its operating companies: Blokker, Xenos, Leen Bakker, Big Bazar, Marskramer, Cook&Co, Intertoys, ToysXL, and Bart Smit. Prior to that, they served as Interim Legal Counsel at Sandvik Mining and Construction from February 2016 to August 2016 and at Nuon from August 2015 to January 2016. Daams began their career as an Advocaat (Attorney at law) at AKD N.V. from January 2012 to April 2015. Loek also served as a Student-stagiair at Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuijn advocaten en notarissen from September 2011 to October 2011 and as the Vice-President of ELSA Amsterdam from August 2010 to September 2011.

Loek Daams completed a Bachelor's degree in Law and European Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Loek then went on to complete a Master's degree in LL.M International and European Law also at the University of Amsterdam. After working in the field of law for several years, they decided to pursue an Executive MBA at Nyenrode Business University, with a focus on Organization and Value of Data and Technology. In order to further their knowledge in data privacy, they obtained the GDPR Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/Europe) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
