Scott Neilson

Scott Neilson is a seasoned professional in product development and design, currently serving as the Sr. Product Development Manager for Gear at 5.11 Tactical since March 2021, where responsibilities include managing the development process for various tactical gear categories. Prior to this role, Scott owned and designed for Neilson Mountaineering and spent nearly a decade at Exxel Outdoors, where positions included Product Manager and Senior Product Designer, focusing on KELTY products and Walmart’s private label sleeping bags. Scott's earlier career includes roles at GoLite, Pearl Izumi, and Lowe Alpine, starting in 1998. Scott holds an M.S. in Apparel Design from Colorado State University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
