Mio Akasako

Mio Akasako is a co-founder and VP of Marketing at Ash since January 2020 and a Batch 27 Founder at 500 Startups from November 2020. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Associate at Kallyope from May 2016 to October 2020, and working as a freelance translator specializing in Japanese and English from May 2013 to September 2020. Mio has also held positions as a Research Specialist at Princeton Neuroscience Institute from July 2014 to April 2016, a Research Assistant at Brown University from September 2011 to May 2014, and a Research Assistant at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for a brief period in 2011. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Data Visualization from Parsons School of Design - The New School (2018-2020), a Master of Science from Cornell Tech (2019-2020), and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brown University (2010-2014). Additionally, Mio pursued studies at Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium and the Danish Institute of Study Abroad in 2013.
