Simeon Baker-Finch

Simeon Baker-Finch has a diverse work experience in the technology and renewable energy sectors. Simeon is currently serving as the Chief Product Officer at 5B, a role they assumed in June 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at 5B from September 2021 to June 2022.

Before joining 5B, Simeon worked at AGL Australia from 2017 to 2021. During this time, they held various roles, including Head of Technology and Commercial Strategy in the Future Business division, Principal Technologist, Senior Manager of Platform Architecture, and Technology, Product, and Innovation Manager in the New Energy department.

From 2014 to 2016, Simeon worked at First Solar, where they served as the Manager of Future Manufacturing Systems and Manager of Device R&D. At First Solar, they played a crucial role in the planning and execution of a manufacturing execution system project and the delivery of a 100 MW silicon solar cell production line.

Simeon started their career in 2005 as a Research Assistant at The Australian National University. Simeon later worked as a Research Fellow at the university from 2013 to 2014, leading industry collaborations and conducting academic research on silicon solar cells.

In 2013, Simeon was also involved in the launch of PV Lighthouse, a data and analytics startup focused on solar energy. Here, they worked as a Senior Engineer and played a key role in technical consultancy and the development of online resources.

In 2012, Simeon worked as a Process Engineer/Scientist at Hanwha Solar America.

Simeon Baker-Finch's education history is as follows:

From 2009 to 2012, Simeon attended The Australian National University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering with a specialization in Photovoltaics.

Prior to that, from 2003 to 2008, Simeon studied at the Australian National University and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Arts degree. Their field of study was focused on Electrical and Electronic Systems.

In addition to their formal education, Simeon also obtained a certification as a Prof G Certified Strategist from Prof G in June 2020.
