Arturo Gutierrez

Arturo Gutierrez is a highly experienced materials scientist currently serving as Principal Scientist at 6K since June 2023. Prior to this role, Arturo worked at Argonne National Laboratory from August 2014 to June 2023, holding titles such as Materials Scientist, Assistant Materials Scientist, and Postdoctoral Appointee. During tenure at The University of Texas at Austin from June 2009 to June 2014, Arturo contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on the synthesis of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries, particularly through the implementation of preferential surface segregation for protective coatings. Earlier experience includes a role as Undergraduate Research Assistant at Boise State University from January 2007 to May 2009, where research centered on device fabrication with low-temperature co-fired ceramic and investigation of thermo-mechanical behavior. Arturo earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Materials Science and Engineering from Boise State University.
