Amit Gal

Amit Gal has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries. Amit currently holds the position of Head of Data Science at 888holdings since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Artificial Intelligence at Artbrain until March 2023. Amit also has a background in entrepreneurship, having founded and served as the CEO of Practicity from February 2018 to December 2021.

Amit has significant expertise in the field of data science and possesses strong mentoring and instructional skills. Amit worked as a self-employed data science mentor and instructor since September 2009, providing guidance and conducting workshops on advanced statistics and research, particularly using the programming language R. Additionally, they offered consulting services to organizations on data-related projects and helped plan and oversee their execution.

Before venturing into data science, Amit gained valuable experience in the technology industry. Amit held the position of Senior Engineering Manager at Cadence Design Systems, Inc. from an unspecified start date until 2007. During their tenure, they led a strategic project, managed a team of software and algorithm developers, and developed cutting-edge algorithms for hardware design verification. Amit'scontributions resulted in two patent applications. Amit also held leadership roles in algorithm development and team leadership at Verisity, VerticalNet Solutions, and Compugen.

Furthermore, during their earlier years, Amit worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from an unspecified start date until 2004. Amit also worked as a mathematician at a company called Unicorn in 2002 and as an algorithm developer/researcher at Compugen from 1996 to 1997.

Amit Gal has an Executive Professional Diploma in Board of Directors training from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an unfinished PhD in Management from Tel Aviv University. Amit also holds an M.Sc. in Management from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in musicology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Additionally, they have participated in musical workshops leading and group improvisation at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
