W. Michael Foster

W. Michael Foster, CPSM has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. W. Michael currently holds the position of Vice President Solar and Storage Procurement at 8minute Solar Energy since August 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Director Procurement Energy Storage at the same company from July 2021 to August 2022.

Before joining 8minute Solar Energy, Foster worked at Origis Energy as the Director of Procurement from January 2017 to July 2021.

From 2013 to 2016, Foster gained valuable experience at Sempra Renewables. W. Michael held various positions including Strategic Procurement Lead and Strategic Procurement Advisor. During their time at Sempra, they played a key role in establishing procurement policies, developing new procedures, implementing changes, and sourcing and managing the procurement of high-risk materials and services.

Foster began their career at San Diego Gas & Electric, where they worked as a Contracting Agent from January 2012 to July 2013. Prior to that, they held the position of Associate Contract Agent at the same company from May 2009 to December 2011.

Foster's early professional experience includes a consulting project as part of their M.B.A. thesis at General Atomics from August 2009 to December 2009.

W. Michael Foster, CPSM obtained a Master of Business Administration in Supply Chain and Operations Management from San Diego State University in 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of the Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor Of Science in Business Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania between 2003 and 2008. W. Michael'seducation journey began at Punxsutawney Area High School from 1999 to 2003. In 2012, Foster obtained the Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification from the Institute for Supply Management.
