Matthew Coppola

Matthew Coppola has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within data management, analytics, and reporting. Matthew most recently worked at AM Best as the Director of Data Engineering, Analytics, and Reporting. Prior to that, they held positions as the Director of Data Management and Associate Director of Data Management at the same company. In these roles, they developed and implemented data-driven analytical tools and processes, streamlined financial data consolidation, and enhanced rating analyst productivity. Before joining AM Best, Matthew worked at Williams Capital Group as a Research Analyst, where they contributed to the formation of a sell-side research platform and provided equity research to institutional clients. Matthew also worked at Atlantis Investment Company, Inc as an Equity Analyst, where they produced high-quality research reports and performed thorough company analysis. Matthew began their career as a Financial Advisor Trainee at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Matthew Coppola completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Earth Science with a minor in Computer Science from Frostburg State University in the years 1997 to 2001. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science degree in Predictive Analytics at Northwestern University from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, Matthew obtained several certifications, including Business Applications of Statistics and Data Analytics from the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) in June 2015, Series 86 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in October 2007, Series 87 from FINRA in December 2006, and Series 66 and Series 7 from FINRA in December 2001 and October 2001, respectively.
