Alex Partin

Scientist II at A2 Biotherapeutics

Alex Partin's work experience began in 2011 as an undergraduate teaching assistant for senior-level courses in neurophysiology and systems neuroscience at The University of Texas at Dallas. In these roles, Alex facilitated discussions, provided tutoring and review sessions, and assisted with exams.

During this time, Alex also worked as an undergraduate researcher, first under the mentorship of Lucien Tres Thompson, PhD, conducting experiments on the behavioral and neurophysiological effects of a small molecule. Alex also developed protocols and trained students in neuroscience laboratory methods.

In 2012, Alex continued as an undergraduate researcher, this time working with Jonathan Ploski, PhD, on gene expression patterns and electrical stimulation in the rat brain.

In 2013, Alex joined UT Southwestern Medical Center as a PhD student in the Molecular Biophysics graduate program. Under the mentorship of Dr. Yunsun Nam, Alex utilized biochemical and biophysical tools to study microRNA recognition and processing.

After completing the PhD program in 2020, Alex joined Amgen as a Scientist, eventually progressing to the role of Senior Associate Scientist. At Amgen, Alex contributed to scientific research and projects.

Most recently, in 2022, Alex began working at A2 Biotherapeutics, Inc. as a Scientist II.

Alex Partin completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biophysics from UT Southwestern Medical Center, graduating in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and Neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas, completing their degree in 2012.
