José Nieves began their career in 2000 as a Hardware Design Engineer at Mixbaal. In this role, they were responsible for designing and implementing logical algorithms and test benches for programmable devices, as well as selecting electronic components for BOMs, schematic capture, layout of PCBs, bring up and tests. José also created test plans for finished products and boards. In 2007, José Nieves joined Freescale Semiconductor as a Trainee, where they worked on energy management optimization for a 3G cell phone platform and developed C++ applications to reduce current consumption. Finally, in 2008, José Nieves became a Hardware Engineer at A2e Technologies, an Electronic Design Services firm. In this role, they were responsible for schematic capture, Orcad DxDesigner, tests, and bring ups, as well as working with VHDL and Verilog.
José Nieves received their Bachelor degree in Electronics from Tecnológico de Monterrey between 1995 and 1999. José then went on to receive their Master degree in Telecommunications and Electrical Eng. from Telecom Bretagne between 2005 and 2007.
