Maria Catarina Santos has a diverse work experience in the field of sustainability and architecture. Maria Catarina recently worked as the Head of Sustainability and the Head of Sustainability Department at A400 - Projetistas e Consultores de Engenharia, where they promoted sustainability integration in built environments and implemented business strategies related to ESG reporting and European regulations. Before that, they were the Technical Director of Sustainability at GreenLab and the Project Manager & Sustainability Consultant at S+A Green Lab, where they implemented sustainability strategies and certifications for buildings. Maria also worked as an Architect - Job Captain at Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and as an Architect at Woodruff Construction, LLC and a Private Developer. Maria Catarina'sinternship experience was as an Intern Architect at Greenfeatures Lda, where they conducted research, developed master plans, and performed feasibility studies. Overall, Maria has gained valuable expertise in sustainable design, project management, and architecture throughout their career.

Maria Catarina Santos has an extensive education history in the field of architecture. Maria Catarina obtained a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree from the University of Lisbon in 2011. Maria Catarina further pursued their studies and completed a Master in Planning and Policies for the City, Environment and Landscape from Università Iuav di Venezia in 2012. In 2014, they earned a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree specialized in Urban Planning from the University of Lisbon.

Maria Catarina Santos continued their education and is currently completing a Doctor of Architecture - PHD degree at the University of Lisbon, which they started in 2019 and is expected to finish in 2023. Maria Catarina is also pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Regenerative Design from Faculdade de Arquitetura - Universidade de Lisboa, which they started in 2019 and plans to complete by 2024.
