Cordelia Black has diverse work experience in a variety of roles. Cordelia started their career in 2011 at the Ministry of Health New Zealand, where they worked as a Client Payment Administrator for five years. Cordelia then moved on to the Storylines Charitable Trust as an Event Manager for a brief period in 2016. Cordelia also worked as a Web Services Coordinator for the Hutt City Council, where they managed web development, marketing, and communications.
In 2018, Cordelia took on the role of Co-Leader at the Aotearoa Tech Union (ATU), a position they held until 2022. Concurrently, they joined Datacom as a Group Administrator, supporting operations teams and championing initiatives for the IT managed service business.
From 2017 to 2018, Cordelia pursued their passion for performing by working as a performer for The Scruffy Bunny Theatre and the Wellington Fringe Festival.
In 2020, Cordelia joined Sharesies as a People Experience Advisor, where they took on various HR responsibilities, including recruitment, policy support, employee engagement, onboarding, and employee well-being. Cordelia also became a certified Employee Experience Designer during their time at Sharesies.
Most recently, Cordelia joined A44 Games in 2023 as a People and Places Wrangler, although the end date is not specified.
Cordelia Black has an extensive education history. Cordelia obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts from Victoria University of Wellington from 2006 to 2008. Cordelia'sfield of study during this period was Latin and Linguistics. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree from Victoria University of Wellington from 2003 to 2006. Cordelia'smajor subjects during their undergraduate studies were French, Linguistics, and European Studies. Furthermore, they pursued a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) from Victoria University of Wellington from 1995 to 2000. Cordelia'sCOP focused on Languages and Biological Sciences.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Cordelia completed the PX Empowerment Course at BloomHQ in July 2023, obtaining a certification in personal empowerment.
