Jere Smith

Jere Smith has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 1982, Jere worked as a Building Inspector for the City of Atlanta. This was followed by roles as an Operations Manager at Oser Services and a Project Manager at Piper O'Brien Herr Architects. From 1991 to 1993, Jere served as a Project Manager at Slater-Paull & Associates.

In 1993, Jere joined Atlanta Public Schools and held several positions, including Director of Capital Improvements. In this role, Jere was responsible for planning, constructing, and renovating educational and support facilities buildings. Notably, they completed the construction of the new North Atlanta High School complex. Jere also served as the Executive Director of Capital Programs and was a member of the Technical and Career Education Advisory Board.

Outside of Atlanta Public Schools, Jere was involved in various organizations and boards. Jere served as a member of the Architecture Industry Advisory Board at Kennesaw State University, the National Board of Directors at the Construction Owners Association of America, the Board of Directors at Early Learning Property Management, the Construction Industry Advisory Board at Clemson University, and held leadership roles in the Association for Learning Environments-A4LE.

Jere Smith obtained a Master's of Construction Science and Management degree from Clemson University between 2000 and 2004. Prior to that, Jere attended Southern Polytechnic State University where they completed a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
