Karen Kuhlman has extensive work experience in government affairs and legislative roles. Karen is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at AAAE since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at United Airlines, holding positions as a Managing Director from 2017 to 2023 and as the Director of Congressional Affairs from 2006 to 2017. Before joining United Airlines, Karen worked as the Legislative Director for Congressman Dan Boren from 2005 to 2006 and for Congressman Brad Carson from 2001 to 2004.
Karen Kuhlman pursued their education in a progressive manner. Karen first attended the University of Oklahoma from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in the field of Political Science and Government. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Maryland from 1996 to 1997, earning a Master's degree in Public Administration.
