Fatimah A. Abioye Mph

Manager, Maternal & Infant Mental Health at AAP

Fatimah A. Abioye, MPH, MSW has a diverse work experience in the field of public health and social work. Starting in 2009, they interned at the Chicago Department of Public Health Office of Violence Prevention. Fatimah A. then worked as a Counselor/Advocate at Connections for Abused Women and their Children from 2012 to 2013. In 2015, they interned as a Wellness Program Intern at RefugeeOne and as an Operation Storefront Tobacco Educator Intern at Asian Human Services, Inc.

From 2016 to 2019, Fatimah held multiple positions. Fatimah A. worked as a Summer Research Assistant at Heartland Alliance, a Public Policy Intern at Metropolitan Family Services, and a Public Health Program Manager at the University of Chicago Center for Asian Health Equity / Asian Health Coalition.

In 2013, Fatimah joined Apna Ghar, Inc. (Our Home) as a Facilitator for the Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program. Fatimah A. then moved on to Swedish Hospital in 2019, where they served as the Manager of the Violence Prevention Program.

Currently, Fatimah is employed at the American Academy of Pediatrics. Fatimah A. started in 2020 as the Program Manager for Violence Against Children and Women Initiatives, and in 2021, they transitioned to the role of Manager for Maternal & Infant Mental Health.

Fatimah A. Abioye, MPH, MSW, has a strong educational background in public health and social work. Fatimah A. completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus on Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago. Fatimah A. continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community Health Sciences. Alongside their MPH, they also pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of Illinois Chicago, specializing in Community Health and Urban Development.

In addition to their academic degrees, Fatimah A. Abioye has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Fatimah A. holds a Mental Health First Aid Certificate, which they obtained in June 2016. Fatimah A. also possesses a Human Subject Research Training Certificate, obtained in 2015, and a 40-hour Domestic Violence Training Certificate, obtained in January 2010.
