Katherine Kovacs

Director, National Conference Education Activities at AAP

Katherine Kovacs has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Katherine started their career in 2009 as a Workforce Planning Analyst at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, where they administered grants and organized conferences. In 2012, they joined Apex Management & Special Events, Inc. as an Education and Research Coordinator, coordinating education programs and managing membership databases. That same year, they also began working at the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, first as a Membership Coordinator, then as an Education Coordinator, and finally as a Meetings and Education Manager. In these roles, they oversaw conference logistics, developed educational content, managed committees, and maintained accreditation files. In 2016, Kovacs transitioned to the American Academy of Pediatrics, where they held roles including Manager, Sr. Manager, and currently Director of National Conference Education Activities. Katherine'sresponsibilities in these positions included managing conference and exhibition CME, leading a team, and overseeing attendee recruitment and retention efforts. Overall, Kovacs has a strong background in conference planning, education development, and project management.

Katherine Kovacs earned their Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Katherine attended the university from 2004 to 2008. After completing their undergraduate studies, they went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois Springfield. Katherine attended this institution from 2008 to 2010.
