Everly Macario has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles related to research, public health, and healthcare consulting.

Starting in 1988, Macario worked as an Associate at Managed Health Care Services (MHCS), where they were responsible for creating strategies, conducting market assessments, and managing databases for Preferred Provider and Health Maintenance Organizations.

In 1989, Macario joined GLS Associates as a Research Associate, contributing to research projects during their time there.

From 1994 to 1997, Macario worked at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Project Management Coordinator. They oversaw the daily operations and budget of various cancer risk reduction studies, including the coordination of interventions and evaluations, as well as data collection and analysis.

Macario then joined Porter Novelli in 1997 as an Account Supervisor. In this role, they oversaw the implementation of National Cancer Institute (NCI) account activities, focusing on cancer prevention, detection, and treatment education for diverse audiences.

Starting in 2000, Macario simultaneously worked as a Subject Matter Expert for Research at IQ Solutions, Inc., and as a Public Health Research and Communications Consultant, a self-employed role that continued until 2023.

In 2008, they took up the position of Research Administrator at the University of Chicago Medical Center, overseeing research administration activities.

From 2009 to 2022, Macario served as a Senior Research Advisor and Consultant at The Hannon Group, LLC, with a promotion to Director of Research in 2017-2018.

Macario also served as a Spokesperson for The Pew Charitable Trusts Supermoms Against Superbugs Campaign from 2010 to 2020.

Finally, Macario's most recent role, starting in 2023, is Director of Primary Care Research for the PROS Network at the American Academy of Pediatrics. In this position, they lead a team to execute practice-based research projects, guide the strategic and scientific direction of the network, and focus on various topics in pediatric primary care, such as HPV vaccination rates, social determinants of health screening, mental health enhancement, and telemedicine use in primary care. They also study Long COVID in children.

Everly Macario, Sc.D., M.S., Ed.M. holds a Doctor of Science degree (Sc.D.) in Health and Social Behavior / Social Marketing from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, which was completed in 1997. Prior to that, in 1993, they obtained a Master of Education degree (Ed.M.) from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 1992, they earned a Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Everly Macario's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in History and Sociology of Science, which they received from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988.

In addition to their formal education, Everly Macario has obtained several certifications. Notably, they completed multiple Human Subjects Research \u2013 Social-Behavioral-Educational Refresher 2 certifications from various institutions, including the CITI Program, the Department of Justice, and CITI Program, A Division of BRANY. They also hold certifications in Human Subjects Research \u2013 Social-Behavioral-Educational Refresher, Human Subjects Research \u2013 Social-Behavioral-Educational Basic Certification, all obtained from the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI PROGRAM) in different years.
