Kathy Stokes

Kathy Stokes is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in communication strategy and fraud prevention. Currently serving as the Director of Fraud Prevention Programs at AARP since February 2016, Kathy leads the AARP Fraud Watch Network, focusing on educating older adults about safeguarding against scams and managing a substantial $14 million budget. Previous roles include ownership of KSM Communications LLC, where Kathy developed communication strategies and content for varied audiences, and serving as Public Affairs Director at the Brookings Institution's Retirement Security Project. Earlier positions include significant roles at Ernst & Young and the Employee Benefit Research Institute, where Kathy specialized in financial education and public affairs. Kathy holds a Master of Arts in American Government from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Communication from the University of Pittsburgh.
