Kiran Bachhawat

Kiran Bachhawat, Ph.D., MBA, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the healthcare and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Procurement at Abbott since August 2007, Kiran leads the strategic procurement team for the Rapid Diagnostics business and formulates vision for the Clinical Chemistry/Biologics portfolio. Previously held positions at Abbott include Principal Scientist in Technical Operations, where Kiran managed a high-performing technical team and overseen product commercialization and third-party technical operations, as well as roles as Technical Application Specialist and Senior Scientist. Prior to joining Abbott, Kiran was a Research Faculty member at UT Southwestern Medical Center, contributing to innovative medical diagnostics technology. Kiran holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from the Indian Institute of Science and has completed a Post Graduate Program in Data Science and Business Analytics at The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
