Ayako Hasegawa

Ayako Hasegawa serves as Director at AbbVie since May 2020, leading the pharmaceutical microbiology group to develop and implement comprehensive microbiological control strategies for small molecules, biologics, combination products, and medical devices. Previously, Ayako held various positions at Allergan from August 2008 to May 2020, including Director, Associate Director, Sr. Scientist, and Scientist, focusing on the development, verification, and optimization of pharmaceutical microbiological assays compliant with GMP and regulatory requirements throughout the product life cycle. Academic credentials include a PhD in Biological Chemistry from UCLA and a BS in Physiological Science from UCLA, with additional studies at Santa Monica College. Prior postdoctoral experience was gained at UC Irvine from December 2007 to August 2008.
