Ivan Smurov

Ivan Smurov is an accomplished professional in natural language processing, currently serving as the Head of the NLP research group at ABBYY since August 2018, where oversight includes a team of six focusing on multi-language NLP tasks. As an Assistant Professor at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology since September 2013, Ivan has designed and taught a course in Natural Language Processing while supervising numerous theses in the field. Previously, Ivan held roles at Mail.ru Group as a Research Software Developer and at ABBYY as a Data Scientist, contributing to machine learning frameworks and research projects. Ivan holds a Specialist degree in Mathematics from Moscow State University, obtained in 2012.
