Emma Sceats

Emma Sceats has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles within the biotechnology and innovation sectors. Emma is currently working as the SVP of Sales & Marketing at abcam, where they emphasize collaboration and innovation in providing essential research products and solutions. Prior to this, they held the position of SVP of Sales & Service at abcam, overseeing global sales, business development, and customer service metrics. Earlier in their career, Emma served as the Chief Executive Officer at Isogenica Limited, specializing in the development of biotherapeutics for cancer and other diseases. Emma also held leadership positions at CN Bio Innovations, where they were the CEO and COO, responsible for corporate strategy, finance, business development, and securing equity investment. Additionally, Emma worked as a Licensing Manager at Isis Innovation Ltd, managing a portfolio of intellectual property and spin-out projects from the University of Oxford. Emma began their career as a Research Scientist at DuPont, conducting research on organometallic catalysts for industrial applications.

Emma Sceats completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (with a year in industry) at the University of Bristol from 1998 to 2002. Emma then pursued their Master of Science degree in Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed from 2002 to 2004. Emma furthered their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil.) degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, where they studied from 2004 to 2007.
