Baris Ekdi

Baris Ekdi currently serves as Chief Regulatory Officer and Director of Regulatory Affairs at Abdul Latif Jameel since October 2015. Previously, Baris held the position of Government Relations Manager at Philip Morris International from January 2013 to October 2015, where responsibilities included managing government relations and regulatory tracking. Baris's career also includes significant roles within the Turkish Competition Authority, including Head of Enforcement Department No.V, where duties encompassed case handling and legislation drafting, along with serving as a lecturer and trainer. Additional experience includes advisory work for the Ministry of Industry and Trade and part-time lecturing at Bilkent University on law and economics. Baris holds multiple degrees, including an LL.M. in Competition Law from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Ankara University. An established author, Baris published a thesis on competition law issues in 2003.
