J.D. Ford has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2011, J.D. worked as a Game Writer, focusing on narrative development and character design for the EXCALIBUR project at Avalon Studios. From 2013 to 2014, J.D. was an Educational Coordinator/Trainer and Rental Operations specialist at camadeus Film Technologies, where they conducted workshops and taught film school students about wireless lens control systems and camera operation. In 2014, J.D. joined AbelCine and held multiple positions, including Rental Prep Technician, Product Marketing Copywriter, and Video Editor. They were responsible for assembling camera packages, creating product descriptions, and editing videos. In 2018, J.D. worked as a Lead Writer for Skybound at Flyby Games, where they were involved in narrative development and also gained proficiency in various technical aspects of game development. Most recently, J.D. joined Pixelberry Studios in 2022 as a Writer, focusing on game writing and branching narrative design. They were also a beta tester for the StoryLoom Creator Studio and created an original interactive visual novel. J.D. has demonstrated strong writing and technical skills throughout their work experience.

J. D. Ford obtained a Bachelor's degree in Media Communication with Film Emphasis from Asbury University, where Ford studied from 2007 to 2009. In 2021, Ford also completed a Certificate of Completion for the Game Writing Masterclass I program at The Narrative Department. In 2023, Ford completed another program at The Narrative Department called the Game Writing / Narrative Design Career Accelerator Program, earning a Certificate of Completion.
