Walid A. Metwally

Walid A. Metwally is a distinguished researcher and group leader at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since August 2022. With extensive experience in the field of nuclear engineering, Metwally serves as an ABET EAC Executive Committee Member, Program Evaluator, and ABET EAC Commissioner since September 2012. Additionally, Metwally holds leadership roles at the International Atomic Energy Agency, American Nuclear Society, and has a strong academic background, having served as a professor and vice dean at the University of Sharjah from September 2012 to August 2022. Metwally's previous positions include technical leadership at GE and lead engineer roles at Global Nuclear Fuel/General Electric. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, an MBA, and multiple master's degrees in related fields from reputable institutions.
