Karyn Ervin has extensive experience in various leadership roles primarily within the Australian public sector. Karyn is currently serving as the Human Resources Director at Aboriginal Hostels Limited. Prior to this, they held the position of Director Inclusion, Leadership, and Culture at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from December 2021 to May 2023. Before that, Karyn worked as a Director at the Australian Public Service Commission from October 2019 to December 2021. Karyn also gained experience as an Assistant Director in positions related to culture, diversity, and enterprise reform at the Australian Department of Defence and Defence respectively, where they showcased their expertise from 2015 to 2019. These roles highlight Karyn's strong background in leadership, human resources, inclusion, and culture.
Karyn Ervin obtained a Certificate in Executive Management and Development from AGSM@UNSW Business School in November 2018. Karyn then pursued additional certifications, including AgileBA® Foundation and Change Management Foundation from APMG International in June and May 2021, respectively. In September 2021, Karyn obtained certifications in Design Thinking, Social Innovation, and Complex Systems, as well as Unconscious Bias, from LinkedIn. Currently, Karyn is pursuing an Executive MBA at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), starting in 2023 and expected to graduate in 2024.
