Pete Ehlke

Pete Ehlke began their career in 1997 as a Senior Systems Administrator at Sony Music Entertainment, where they were responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and administration of Sony Music's internet presence. In 2000, they moved to shockwave.com as a Senior Systems Engineer, responsible for the operation of the internet's premier destination for online entertainment. In 2002, they joined Pegasus Solutions as an Infrastructure Architect & Principal Systems Engineer, where they were responsible for IT infrastructure architecture and strategy, systems automation, and 3rd party application integration. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at Splunk as a Senior Manager of Technical Product Marketing and Client Architect. Finally, in 2014, they began their current role as Vice President of Operations Engineering at Above Property, LLC, where they are responsible for designing, building, and iterating the company's multi-cloud, multi-region AWS and Google Cloud Platform hybrid infrastructure, overseeing the budget for the operating environment, managing operating policies and procedures, interfacing with sales prospects, maintaining disaster preparedness/recovery programs, maintaining a 100% availability SLA, and leading the company's Security and Compliance programs.

Pete Ehlke graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Pete also attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, though no degree was obtained. In 2015, they obtained a Certified Apache Cassandra Administrator certification from O'Reilly Media.
