Bruce Baffer

Bruce Baffer is the Senior Vice President, Global Government Services at American Bureau of Shipping. Bruce has over 20 years of experience in the maritime industry.

Baffer started their career with the U.S. Coast Guard, where they served for over 10 years. Bruce was the Chief Engineer, responsible for sustaining Coast Guard Operations and managing a $1B annual maintenance budget. Bruce also served as the Acquisition Program Executive Officer, executing the Coast Guard Capital Program.

In April 2017, Baffer joined Fincantieri Marine Group as the New Business Program Manager. Bruce was responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow the business and expand into new markets.

Baffer has been with American Bureau of Shipping since August 2021. In their current role, they are responsible for government services and initiatives worldwide.

Bruce Baffer has a Master of Science in Military Strategic Studies from the Marine Corps University, a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Business Administration from UMass Boston, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Bruce also has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy. Bruce is certified by the Dept of Homeland Security as a Level III Acquisition Professional and by the State of Florida as a PE.
