Joel Mathunyane

Joel Mathunyane (M.Eng) has a strong background in data management and data architecture. Joel has worked as the Head of Data at Absa Group since March 2023, and prior to that, they served as the Lead Data Architect from April 2019. Before joining Absa Group, Joel worked at Guardrisk as a Data Architect from June 2017 to April 2019, where they were responsible for implementing data management systems and data warehouse architecture. Prior to that, they worked at MultiChoice as a DataWarehouse and BI Developer from November 2014 to May 2017, where they developed web portals, designed data warehouses, and implemented business intelligence systems. Joel began their career at FNB South Africa as a BI and Datawarehouse Developer from July 2012 to October 2014.
