Johan Wheeler

Johan Wheeler has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies. Johan began their career at Gijima in 2001, working as an Enterprise Architect and later as a Systems Architect until 2014. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at Barclays Africa Group Limited, initially as a Service Architect and later as a Manager in Release and Deployment Management. In 2019, Johan moved to Absa Group, where they held the role of Senior Manager: Operational Readiness before being promoted to Lead Solutions Architect in August 2020.

Johan Wheeler completed their education at various institutions. In 1980-1984, they attended Voortrekker and obtained a Matric degree. Then, from 1989-1995, they studied at Technikon RSA and earned a National Diploma in PolAdm. In 2012-2013, Johan attended the University of the Western Cape and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Honours degree in Information Systems. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in October 2019 and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF) in August 2020.
